Thanks to everyone who helped to make the second NorthWestern Coral Farmers Market event a success ! We acheived a total attendance figure that was slightly larger then our total attendance in 2007. We had a total of 6 coral farming vendors setup displays and there was an incredible amount of propagated corals offerred for sale by our vendors. See the images below of the actual amazing corals that were offerred for sale. This was once again the most logistically difficult Coral Farmers Market that we have operated to date. Our support equipment was driven in two vans over a two day trip to Portland. The Coral Farmers Market setup 5 rental tanks and a new coral transport system was also tested. These logistical operations all worked flawlessly and the experience even demonstrated additional ways to improve the transport system. We have been getting some great feedback from the attendees and vendors. From a financial point of view most of the vendors did good. The NorthWestern Coral Farmers Market received excellent support from the Pacific Northwest Marine Aquarium Society. Another regional hobbyist group, the Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club, also participated. We definitely plan to hold a third annual NorthWestern Coral Farmers Market during the summer or early fall of 2009. We will update this web site with the new information sometime around the end of 2008. See images of the 2008 event below !

Totally Exotic Corals had an incredible display of Acanthastrea lordhowensis fragments along with
numerous cultured LPS, SPS and soft polyps. In future Coral Farmers Markets we prefer to see more
Acanthatsrea lordhowensis that are farmed or cultured. System was installed by Coral Farmers Market.

CaribSea supplied the NorthWestern Coral Farmers Market with Sea-Pure, a premixed seawater.
This seawater was shipped in 4 1/2 gallon jugs that were stacked on a pallet. We used this new
premixed water in our Coral Farmers Market vendor display tanks and it worked very well.

Todd from AWExotics made the long trip all the way from Apple Valley California.
He checked his coral as extra baggage on an Alaska Airlines flight. That worked out
well for him this time. System was installed by Coral Farmers Market.

Reeffarmers also made the long trip up from Southern California. These corals were shipped
in a new Coral Transport system developed by the Coral Farmers Market company. As can
be seen, the corals had good color and good polyp extension. For the entire 2 day trip up and
2 day trip down, not a single fragment was lost. System was installed by Coral Farmers Market.

The late afternoon crowd kept the vendors busy until about 3 pm.

Reef Corals is the only Pacific Northwest vendor to have acquired a vendor display booth at
both of the NorthWestern Coral Farmers Markets. System was installed by Coral Farmers Market.

An impressive display of captively propagated Ricordea Mushroom corals from Aquarist
Farmer Chris Zielinski. This image only shows half of his colorful Ricordea display.

Free magazines from Reef Hobbyist Magazine were also available for our attendees.
